Awesome Weekend

I had such a great weekend. Finally got to go back to Caddo Lake and relax on the lake (literally). And apparently they are making a movie out there about the swamp thing or something like that. We tried to find them but they were gone from the location we were told they would be at. Just missed them too. But they will be out there for all of september so maybe I will still get my chance to be a star. I wish summer wasn't ending. I still haven't gotten to go to the beach. It's much harder here in northeast texas for me to get to the ocean than it used to be. When I lived in california I only had to drive maybe 2 hrs to get to the ocean. Now it takes most of the day. I really miss it though.

I made a layout of my daughter Heaven. It's called "Everyday Princess" because I was inspired by the poem by Thena Smith. I used a kit by Chelly Oliveira called "Sweet Spring" available at Faith Sisters, Scraps2You, and the Little Scrap Garden.

Grand Opening, New LO's and a Free Quickpage

Well Daydreamer Designworks has finally opened its doors this weekend. They have such a nice site over there. I love the design first of all. So soft and magical. I admire it everytime I go there. They have also got some aboslutely awesome designers over there with some beautiful kits and designs. You just got to go check it out. Make sure you register in the forum also because they have some great challenges and events happening.

Today I have three LO's here from Charlize Creation who is a designer over there. She's got some beautiful kits. Sweet and whimsical. If you're looking for one about the circus or carnival, she has an amazing one called "Festive". These first two LO's are from Charlize kit called "Pure Joy". One is my husband and our little Heaven when she was a baby. She's sixteen now. She was so cute. Such a little munchkin. The other one is of Heaven floating in her little floatie in the pool and my other daughter and friend. The third LO was created using Charlize kit "Afternoon in Mulberry Lane". Love the unique elements in this kit. This one features my daughter Autumn posing for a few pics for me.

This next set of LO's was created using the free kit "My little fantastic World" by SunshineArtz available at her blog. This kit is so sweet and so whimsical, I just loved creating with it. And the best part is it's free. Also at the end of this post is a free quickpage I created with this kit. Both of these LO's are of my daughter Autumn when she was little playing in the backyard. The wordart in the first LO is from Lori Davisons kit "Ticket to Dragons End".

Have a Great Weekend

Hey everyone. Hope you all are getting ready for an awesome Labor Day weekend. I'm not sure what our plans are but I know they will include riding the new Harley (yaye). My butt did pretty well being in the saddle all day Saturday. It sure was fun. I love the feeling though it is a little scary when big trucks go by.

This week, Sept. 4th - 11th, is Grab Bag week at DSO so you can get some really awesome Grab Bags for only $3 each, and let me tell you, there is some nice stuff in there. Definitely a deal.

Here are some of my LO's using the GB's. Two of them are about the Stagecoach Days that take place in Jefferson, TX. It is really fun. The entire town transforms into a civil war town. They even have encampments for civil war and union soldiers with tents and everything throughout the town. They also do several re-enactments which is a lot of fun to watch. For these two LO's I used "Shabby Twang" by KimB which is in her Sept. GB at DSO. I also used a template on the second one by Bunny Cates also available at DSO.

Great Kits and New LO's

Wow it's been a week since I last blogged. I blame it on school starting because now, once again, I spend a good portion of my day in the car driving kids from one thing to the next. Then picking up this kid and that one. Nothing ever seems to coordinate either so that I'm picking up and dropping off all in the same trip. Anyhow...

I have been very busy this week doing LO's for different designers. Most I can't show yet. I do have a couple though. First I would like to remind everyone that DSA is hosting a chat tomorrow night for the opening of a brand new store "Daydreamer Designworks". The store will have it's grand opening on Sept. 4th and they will be having all kinds of challenges and fun stuff happening for the grand opening. They have got some awesome designers too like ScrapShana, ValerieN Designs, Jen Yurko, Karen Lewis Designz, and Graham Like the Cracker. It's very exciting and I'm so happy to be on the creative team for the store.

Rachel (Captivated Visions) is about to release a brand new kit on August 30th. It is just beautiful and and the colors are gorgeous. You will be able to pick it up at Divine Digital, Enchanted Studio Scraps and Captivated Visions. Here is a sneak peek:

SAS Designs just released a kit today called "Fading Summer". It's got lots of soft pretty textured papers and elements. It's a beautiful kit with a lot of possibilities. I found it to be one of those kits that so many things were going through my head on what to do with it that I almost had a hard time deciding what to do. "Fading Summer" can be picked up at Bits2Kits, A Cherry on Top or Divine Digital. I made two LO's with this kit. One if of my daughter all dressed up and ready for the Homecoming Dance last year. I thought this kit was perfect for this photo. The other LO is of me and my daughter.

I also did a LO with a kit called "Crazy" also by SAS Designs. It was a perfect match for my daughters crazy hair which you can see below.

Finally here is anothe LO I did with "Jean Genie" by LouCee Creations over at DSO. I love this kit. It has great elements and very pretty papers. I loved the wordart too which is by Jazzy's Words to Delite. I think the frames in this kit are just beautiful and the pocket elements are definitely a unique twist. This LO is of my daughters best friend, Hayley. I love the attitude in this pic.

New LO's and a Free Quickpage

Wow it's Friday. Thank goodness. I am going to the lake tomorrow to spend probably one last day before school starts. Can't wait.

I have three LO's to post that I have been holding onto. The first two are from a kit called "Countryside Riverbank" by SAS Designs. It is a perfect kit for boys and scrapping those fishing, boating, playing in the mud pictures. Of course being that my family and I spend lots of time out here on the lakes, this was great for some of those photos too. It's a beautiful kit. I loved working with it. You can pick up Countryside Riverbank" at Bits2Kits. The first LO is of my son and daughter and their friend in the lake hanging onto the end of a rope out in the water. The other one is my oldest daughter sitting on the boat drinking a soda.

I also made a page from a kit called "I {heart} my family" by Down This Road Designs. This kit was inspired by the importance of the love of family. I loved the little heart tree and the little house. There's also some cute borders in this kit like the button border and the little house border. Very nice kit.

Fried Pickles and Glamorous Girl LO's

Wow fried pickles are soo good. I was a little skeptical bacause first off my daughter was making them for the first time; second it didn't sound like it would be good; third, it stunk bad. But they tasted really good. I love fried green tomatoes and fried squash and this was sort of a combination. It was really good. She fried them perfectly.

Now I have got some LO's I did using a super cute kit called "Jean Genie" by LouCee Creations available at Digital Scrap Obsession. I really love the denim pockets in this kit. Lots of possibilities to get creative. The first is my little neice Kyleigh playing dress up. She is too cute. This was perfect kit for this pic. The second is my grown neice Chrystal. She's a bit of a diva but a tomboy too. Right now you can get this kit and the corresponding wordart for %30 off.

Well husband got his new Harley today. He was so happy. He rode until nightfall. I don't expect to see him much for a couple weeks.

Husband bought a Harley and a new LO

Yesterday my husband and I went Harley Shopping. He bought a nice little used one for 5,000 dollars. Currently he is rebuilding an old chopper but that's gonna be a few months and since he got his license the other day, he just couldn't wait. But it's all good though because I'm told that the chopper will not be very comfortable for me because it's a hard tail conversion (no shock absorbency for passenger). But the Harley we picked up yesterday is a soft tail with some nice shocks for the passenger. Thank god. We are also talking about getting me one to ride. Problem is even the small Harley I sat on felt so heavy. I did sit on a little Honda though and it felt great but it wasn't much more than a little scooter really. I can't wait to go cruisin with my hubby. I grew up riding on the back of an old Harley cuz my dad is an old school biker from way back (he was part of a very infamous outlaw biker gang, we won't mention names).

Anyhow I did a LO with my gorgeous little neice Kadance climbing the fence. I used "Over the Rainbow" by Kasia Designs and wordart by Bethany's Elegant Wordart.

Let's see here.....First of all, I have been accepted as part of the store creative team for Daydreamer Designworks. It's a brand new store with some awesome designer. It's going to open Sept. 4th. It is going to be awesome. They are really planning an extravaganza with all kinds of activities for their grand opening. I love the design of their heading for their shop too. I have been playing around with a couple of kits I bought. They are from Irena Alexeeva over at ScrapOrchard. I just love her designs. The first one is called "Friends". It's my oldest daughter and her friend playing around. I used "Fresh Delice" by Irena Alexeeva. Then I did another using "Faerie Lake" by Irena Alexeeva. I bought another one too called "make believe" also. I bought them both because I have all these pics out at Caddo Lake which reminds me of her kits. So I had to have them to scrap these pics.

Finally I have a free template that I made based on my layout "Friends". It has png files and psd files. It is also available in .rar and .zip. I hope you all enjoy.

New LO's and Free Overlay

Good Morning Everyone. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was good though uneventful. Well not entirely. I went to a professional MMA match Friday night because my nephew is a professional fighter and Friday he was the main event. He's very good and some organizations like UFC and WEC are looking at him. Friday night he was fighting a guy from the WEC. Now normally we pay about $70 to go see him fight (he's usually main event) and we only get to see about 30 seconds of him fighting because he usually takes his opponent out that quick. But we do get our moneys worth because there are usually about ten fights ahead of him. But I tell you we really got our moneys worth this weekend cuz his opponent from the WEC was tough. He actually had to go all rounds. It was a good fight. Unfortunately my nephew did not win so his perfect professsional record is now 8-1. They both had to go to the hospital afterward. My nephew was suffering from a bit of dehydration and they wanted to observe him as he had taken several shots to the back of head and had double vision. The other guy had several cuts on his face that needed to be stitched.

Anyway yesterday I was on a scrapping roll. I did 3 LO's one of which I did post yesterday. I did one of my son tubing at the lake. I used "Little Fishi Island" by Lorie Davison. Then I did one of my son and daughter fighting over the cat. I think it's kind of cute. I used "Autumn Blossoms" by Amanda Heimann and Pineapple Plantation. I also used a template by Kim's Scrappin'.

I made a free overlay called wishes. It's the song from Cinderella. It's in png format and you can download in .rar or .zip.

Dragon Dreams

Good Morning,
Hope everyone has had a great weekend. Mine has been good so far. I got up early this morning and all has been so quiet cuz everyone else is sleeping. It's so nice to have time alone. I haven't had any quiet time by myself since summer vacation started. Anyway I managed to create a LO that I'm very proud of. It is my DD sleeping and dreaming of dragons and far away places. I used "Ticket to Dragon's End" by Lorie Davison. I love her kits so much. You get so many beautiful things and they are so fun to create with.

"Mama and Papa Razzi"

I meant to do this yesterday but I have not been feeling all that way.

I did a new LO that I really love. It's me an my daughter floating in the lake and I used Lori Davison's kit "Little Fishie Island". I just love her designs. This LO was a little difficult because I was trying to get our reflection in the water which was quite tricky. All in all I think it came out pretty well.

Gabby Palmer has teamed up with Sarah Morgan to put out a great new kit for all those photo stars of yours. It's called "Mama and Papa Razzi". It's got some great elements and papers and it can be especially great for scrapping pics of the teenage boy (which we all know how hard it can be to find the right kit for that). You can find "Mama and Papa Razzi" in Gabby Palmers store at NDISB. Below is LO I did of my daughter (on the left) and her friends using this kit. I really love the button at the top and this kit has several.

I made it through the night

I made it through the night. The girls weren't too crazy. In fact I think they all were asleep by 2:00 and they are still sleeping. So all is quiet for now.

I have several LO's, a couple kits and a freebie template.

The first LO is my daughter with one of our many kittens at the time, sleeping so peacefully on her belly. But he's not curled up, he is stretched out on his back.
I used "Happy go Lucky" by Betsy Tuma which will be available August 4th at Two Peas In A Bucket. Very nice kit with a lot of stuff in it. I mean a lot.

The second LO is my daughter and her two friends at the time. They were so cute and so simple. Still loved going outside and getting diry. I also used the "Happy Go Lucky" kit here. I really loved some of the frames in this kit and the flowers too. There's a lot of flowers of different types to choose from. I think this kit would fit a lot of different styles.

Third LO is my neice Kyleigh just being her cute little self. I used "TocToc" by Vavie Design.

Well it's my daughter's 16th birthday. I have several teenage girls over here spending the night. It's so much fun. All you hear is giggling and screaming. I'm gonna have to go to sleep with earplugs (if I dare sleep at all).

Anywhoo....Rachel Jeffries kit "Tutti Fruitti" is the Divine Digital Deal of the week until August 5th. It is so bright and summery. Perfect for summer or picnic LO's. My first LO is my daughter and my nephew goofing around on the 4th of July. I just love that picture. The second is my dear friend Shauna also taken on the 4th of July.

I also did a LO for Ronda of Kiss This Designs. I used her kit "Summer Spunk". Very cute and doodly. You can find this and other wonderful kits she has designed in her store at Divine Digital. The picture is of my daughter and her friends having a little fun on a trip to six flags.

I'm so glad it is the weekend. I can't believe it but my daughter is turning 16 already. My oldest just graduated from high school. They are growing up so fast. I wish sometimes that they wouldn't. I miss those days when they were little.

Speaking of being little I have a new LO I did of my son when he was a brand new baby. First picture here. I used a brand new kit called "Sweet Pea" by Gabby Palmer Digitals at NDISB. I also used a template by Jennifer Fox Designs. It's a very precious kit.

I also have another LO I did of my daughter and her best friend atop a building in New Orleans. It's a great pic. I used a collaboration kit called "Summer Fun" from Down This Road Designs and other designers over at DPH. This was a fun kit. I especially love the I love summer license plate.

Freebie Overlay

I have a freebie paper overlay inspired by KimB Designs "Toof Fairy" kit. It's the story about the tooth fairy. I took mine and blended it into a couple papers, applied a layer mask to the overlay layer, then took a wide soft brush and just brushed out a little here and there. Anyway the result is what I got on my Toofless LO a couple posts back. As usual it is in rar and zip. Enjoy.

New LO, New Kit and a Free Template

Wow it is raining so hard here. I love thunderstorms. I think we're on a flash flood and a tornado watch. I used to be TERRIFIED of these storms when I first moved to East Texas 16 years ago. I had never heard such loud cracking thunder in all my life. I grew up in Southern California out in the desert and we just did not get storms like this. Now I enjoy them. It's making things hard on my poor husband though because he's a painting contractor and all the jobs he has going are outside and it's been raining for days (except of course this past weekend when it's time to relax).

So Angie of Down This Road Designs has got an awesome, really cute new kit in the store. The theme is cheerleading and it has got some cute cheer elements to it. But it can definitely be used for any LO. You've got to check it out. I also made a free template of the LO I made. There are zip and rar and the individual png files are also included.

It's Monday. Ugh I'm not feelin all that great either since yesterday morning. I've got a dentist appointment today to get my tooth built up for the crown. I hope there no more grinding on my tooth. That is nearly unbearable even with the numbing of the mouth.

Captivated Visions

Wow I am beat tonite. We were at the lake again today (technically though that was yesterday because as I am posting this it is 12:05 a.m.) because hubby can't get enough of the houseboat and relaxing at the lake. He deserves it though. He works very hard for us all week long. It's my own fault for being so tired though. I was up very, very late trying to finish up several LO's for people. And here I am again.

Sooo anyway....Here are two LO's. The first is called "You are the Music in Me". It's of my daughter and her brother acting out a part from High School Musical. At the time she was totally into High School Musical so we threw her a High School Musical themed party for her 17th. So in this she's Gabrielle and he's Troy. Such a cute pic. I used a kit appropriately called "Music In Me" by Danielle Engbretson Designs.

The second LO is with the same kit. This is my other daughter at a little photoshoot we were doing and she's posing with her violin. I love when I can get pics of her like this because she is usually so wild looking with a shaved head dyed who knows what color. Right now it's purple and underneath on the sides where it's all shaved off there are purple polka dots.

I am also giving a freebie wordart from the "Music in Me" LO. It comes in .zip and .rar. Also there are different png files in gray and a color png file. So hopefully there's something in there that everyone can use. I hope you enjoy.

Bianca (Project B Designs) at Scrapable has released a brand new kit called "Captured" and there's also a word-pack that that goes to it. It's especially good for all those people you know who love to have their pic taken and are always jumping in front of your camera. It has nice warm papers and some really cute paper hearts. I especially love the lighter swirl. I did a couple of LO's with it of my neices. Also I have made a template of one of the LO's and they are in .rar and.zip.

Great Weekend

I had such a great weekend. It was so perfect and relaxing. We spent most of it on Caddo Lake. It's so pretty out there with all the cypress trees and the spanish moss that hangs off them. It's a different world out there. I just floated on my raft all afternoon waiting for the boats and jet skis to come by so I could get big waves to ride on. That was my highlight. That and watching my daughter get all messed up on her raft. She had her legs wrapped all around that thing and she could not get on it for nothing. It was hilarious. Then she kept trying to grab my raft so I had to keep paddling away from her.

So then I came home and did two new LO's using some kits I got from MKDesigns at Shabby Pickle. I love her designs. The first one I scrapped is of my daughter (the one mentioned above) playing her violin in a school concert. For this I used "Sweet Sound of Music". The next one was of my son and his older brother. It was such a cute pic. They had only just met each other for the first time a couple weeks before. For that LO I used "Cute Little Monsters". I really love the blue teddy and the little blue monster or alien (or whatever that is). It reminds me of Stitch from the movie "Lilo and Stitch" which is my favorite disney movie. I love Stitch.

What a Nice Day

Today has been such a beautiful day. The temperature has been in 80's with a breeze. Just gorgeous. My husband and I got up early this morning to go out to the Houseboat on Caddo Lake to do a little fishing. It was fun. I didn't catch anything major, just some little perch and blue gill but I don't care. It sure would be nice to catch a big bass though. I did catch a 3 pounder a couple weeks ago. That was very exciting for me. So after we fished we cut up a tree that came down in the storm the other night and drug it away. My fingers hurt a little. But it was fun to get dirty with my hubby.

Anyway I finished two new LO's last night. One is of my nephew canoeing. I used the brand spanking new kit called "Scouts Honor" by Gabby Palmer Digitals. You can check it out in her store at NDISB. She has one for boys and one for girls. And don't just think they are for Scouts either. They are versatile and can be used to scrap lots of adventures like camping, swimming, hiking or other outdoor activities.

The next LO I did was of my daughter climbing around in the vines out at Caddo Lake State Park which she loves to do. She's such a tomboy. For this LO I used a kit called "Wild Thing" by Rachel of Captivated Visions. I love the animal prints in this kit. This kit can be found in Rachel's store at Captivated Visions and Divine Digital.

New Layout and a Free Template

So glad it's Friday cuz I'm going to the lake.

I made a new LO. This one is my nephew and his fiance with their little dog Buddy. Buddy is a shitzu. I'm not sure I spelled that right. My husband has a different word for it which I cannot say but it sounds the same with on in the middle. I got to babysit him for a weekend and he was so sweet and so cute. It's really cute when you take him outside on his little leash becuz he runs around in circles with these tiny little legs. I can't get enough, I want one. Anyway my LO was done with a kit called "Ginger and Me" by Gabby Palmer Designs which can be found here . This cute kit has lots in it and it perfect for scrapping those pics of your furbaby. I also have a template that you can download which I used for this LO.

LO for challenge

Okay I have to make this quick this morning. I was up late and overslept and now I must get ready for school. First off I was accepted as a memeber of Gabby Palmer's CT. You can find her products at here. She has some really cute stuff. There's a great kit for scrapping picnics and bbq's there.

Which brings me to my LO. I did this for the 2009 Featured Designer challenge over at Digital Paper Hearts. They are hosting some great challenges over there. You get the "Weekend Escape" mini kit by Down This Road Designs for free for this challenge. Anyway here's mine. This is my brother and sister in law on a trip.

Brand New Blog

Well after much tearing of my hair out and a sleepless night, I finally have a new look to my blog thanks to Shabby Miss Jenn's. She has some very cute blogwear. I deleted all the old posts too because, well it hadn't been kept up with and we are starting brand new.

I'm very happy to announce that I have been accepted to 2 Creative Teams. They are Captivated Visions and Down This Road Designs. Both are very talented designers who have very sweet kits.
